<International Circulation>: Management of obesity-related hypertension is a hot research area and most studies focus on pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery. Can you tell us about some of the progress in this area and discuss treatment adherence in those patients?

<International Circulation>: So when you stop taking those medicine are there side effects? Maybe they still continue to gain weight?
Sharma教授：RAAS阻断药物不会引起体重增加。降压药物中，只有β受体阻滞剂会引起体重增加。有些患者应用β受体阻滞剂时体重增加相当明显。
Prof. Sharma:Not the blockers of the renin-angiotensin system; the only hypertensive drugs that can cause weight gain are beta blockers， and some patients are quite sensitive to the weight gain effects of beta blockers.
